Hey! So Glad You're Here.

Mary Zell Galen is a museum and historic preservation professional passionate about community-oriented science, history, and arts institutions. She currently works as an Architectural Survey Data Analyst at the Maryland Historical Trust, where she reviews historic properties in the Eastern Shore.

​

Before joining the Maryland Historical Trust, she worked for the Virginia Museum of Natural History. While in school, she interned with a variety of institutions, including the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum and the Robert Russa Moton Museum. 

 

She earned her master’s degree in science museum studies from the Cooperstown Graduate Program at SUNY Oneonta. She received her bachelor's degree from Longwood University, where she majored in history, with a concentration in public history, and a minor in business administration.

 

Outside of work, Mary Zell enjoys spending her free time reading, running, and visiting museums.
